Public Works Project Manager Officer

As a Public Works Project Management Officer, you will:
Ensure the resolution of problems, issues, or conflicts as required. Ensures that program schedule, performance, and deliverables are met. Develop and manage USMMA project schedules. Draft documentation including Plan of Action & Milestone documents to completion of projects. Identify and implement management improvements, cost reductions, and enhance efficiencies whenever possible, employing project management principles. Streamline policies and procedures in order to guarantee optimum efficiency. Ascertain that staff is well trained and conversant in regulations and procedures. Ensure that standard operating procedures are developed, communicated to staff, and consistently applied. Serve as Project Manager, responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects. Coordinate the planning, design, cost engineering, construction, and environmental restoration, etc. for projects of substantial scope and complexity as measured by their diversity, geographical area, management demands, technical intricacies, and public issues. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in project management, overseeing complex maintenance and repair projects in an educational campus environment. The ideal candidate will also have experience in supervising and leading a diverse staff of professionals. To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include:
Experience identifying and implementing project management improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency enhancements. Experience in overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects. Experience planning, designing, cost engineering complex maintenance and repair projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
