ABOUT THE ROLEWe are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to join the team! As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will assist the Director of Housekeeping in overseeing the work of housekeeping staff and ensuring that the hotel is kept tidy and clean.
You will enforce compliance with safety and sanitation policies to their staff, as well as ensure that all housekeeping operations meet established standards for cleanliness, quality and efficiency, Essential Duties:
Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure that they meet established standards for cleanliness and appearance.
Respond to guest requests and special needs, such as accommodation requests for extra towels or amenities.
Plan and schedule daily housekeeping operations, including assigning tasks and setting priorities.
Able to read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.
g.
, small print).
Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
Able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Able to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.
Able to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
Specific requirements of the role:
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, lobby, etc.
after being cleaned to ensure quality standards.
Act as a liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office and Food and Beverage.
Run room reports and update statuses appropriately.
Rectify room discrepancies with Front Office.
Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
QualificationsMinimum of 2 years in a hotel operation supervisory or management position.
A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience such as housekeeping or janitorial.
Able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written English.
Spanish speaking is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Must be flexible to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
